​​Call for Chapters: Public Procurement Pathways: Digitalisation and Innovation Edition

​About the Series
Public Procurement Pathways is a peer-reviewed series from Anskaffelsesakademiet dedicated to advancing knowledge on timely issues in public procurement. Each edition addresses a focused theme, fostering exchange between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers while bridging academic research and practical application.

Digitalisation and Innovation Edition
This edition explores how digital technologies and innovative practices are transforming public procurement. We welcome contributions that examine how digitalisation can improve decision-making, efficiency, transparency, and sustainability, as well as how innovation can reshape procurement processes, capabilities, and outcomes.

Suggested themes include:
• Digital transformation of procurement processes and systems
• Use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics in procurement decision-making
• Digital platforms and ecosystems for supplier interaction and competition
• Innovation in procurement practices and governance models
• Data quality, interoperability, and information integration in public procurement
• Ethical, legal, and transparency challenges in digital procurement
• Digital tools for monitoring sustainability and social responsibility
• Capability development and organisational change in digital procurement environments

Target Audience
This volume is aimed at researchers, public procurement professionals, consultants, and policymakers with an interest in digitalisation and innovation. Interdisciplinary and practice-oriented contributions are particularly encouraged.

Publication Requirements
Contributions must qualify as scientific publications, meaning they:
1. Present new insights.
2. Are reproducible or usable in further research.
3. Are accessible to the research community.
4. Undergo peer review and are published in an approved venue.

Author Guidelines
• Language of the text: You can choose to write in either English or Norwegian
• Abstract: 250–300 words in English or Norwegian (opposite of the chapter language), italicized and placed before the introduction.
• Keywords: 4–6 in English.
• Length: 7,500 words (±10%), Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 spacing. • Headings: Clear titles; begin with Introduction. Use up to two heading levels (three only if essential). Avoid numbered headings.
• Reference style:
o For chapters written in Norwegian: use APA 7th, Norwegian standard.
o For chapters written in English: use original APA 7th.
o Do not use footnotes.
• Chapters must follow the series’ style and formatting requirements. Manuscripts not conforming may be returned for revision.

Timeline
• Submission of idea or tentative abstract: 1 October 2026
• Feedback on idea: 10 October 2026
• Full chapter submission for peer review: 31 January 2027
• Peer review feedback: 1 March 2027
• Revised contribution due: 1 May 2027
• Publication: Fall 2027
